San Francisco attorney Maureen Gould hasn’t heard from her godmother, the flamboyant 80s rock star Poppy Collins, in years. That is, not until Poppy was on the scene when the band’s front man, her ex-husband, dies under mysterious circumstances. Someone is trying to frame Poppy for his murder.

Meanwhile Poppy is in the middle of a custody battle over her cherished twelve-year-old grandson who lost his mother in a tragic car accident. When the boy’s father learns the boy stands to inherit millions, he reappears on the scene demanding his parental right. As news of the murder investigation is leaked, the father escalates his battle using the evidence as leverage.

Poppy doesn’t want to lose her grandson. Maureen doesn’t want her client to go to jail.
